I’m a new client. What do I need to know?

First of all, welcome to THE! We’re excited to have you.

For all new colour clients, we require that you book in a complimentary consultation before making an appointment. This is essential so that we can accurately assess your hair, pair you up with the best stylist for your hair type, and book the right amount of time to give you the results you're after. We will also provide you with a quote and answer any questions you may have. To book a consultation, give the salon a call on 02 6257 8484 and our coordinator will look after you. 

For new haircut clients, you'll need to book in a long appointment. If you're after a new style, we also recommend coming in for a complimentary consultation before booking your appointment so that we can plan the direction moving forward.

When you arrive at the salon, you’ll be given a client card to fill out with contact details. We kindly ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to allow for this. You will also be offered a complimentary tea or barista-made coffee. We have a wide selection of T2 teas and coffee sourced from local roaster Redbrick.

 

Where should I park?

We offer complimentary onsite parking for clients with an appointment. Please ask our coordinator for directions when you book your appointment.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment as we often have a considerable waitlist. We understand however, that sometimes events beyond our control pop up unexpectedly, therefore we do not charge for cancellations.

Please be aware that if you do not show up to your appointment without notifying us, we will keep a note of your no-show which may affect your ability to get another appointment in the future. 

 

What is your group booking policy?

Group bookings are welcome. For group bookings of three or more people, we require a non-refundable 50% deposit at the time of booking. 

  

What products do you use?

We want you to love your hair, which means giving you the tools to treat your concerns and get the most out of your salon service - beautiful hair doesn't just happen in the salon, it also happens at home.

We have carefully selected the products we sell and use in salon. From quality base products to luxury care, we have something for every hair type and taste. We are proud to stock Kevin Murphy, Matrix Professional and Kerastase Paris. 

If you have sensitivities, allergies or desire products free from specific ingredients, please have a chat to one of our stylists, we will accommodate you as best we can.

 

Do you include toner in the price of your colours?

Yes, we believe as a client you come to us for an end result. Any toning required is included in the price of that end result.

 

I’ve forgotten when my appointment is. How do I find out?

Don't stress! We can easily look up the time of your appointment - just give us a call. 

 

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, we have gift vouchers available to purchase in salon or over the phone. We are happy to send your gift voucher via standard post upon request.

 

do you offer makeup services?

We do not offer makeup services but we frequently work with a few trusted freelance makeup artists. We would be happy to recommend them to you.

 

I'm thinking of booking a Cezanne treatment. What do I need to know?

A Cezanne Keratin Smoothing Treatment reduces frizz and gives you smoother, stronger, healthier and more manageable hair. On average, it lasts for 3-5 months. 

It's best to book your Cezanne treatment not long before your next colour appointment as it can lift the colour of your hair slightly.

To get the best results after your treatment, it is important to use a sulfphate-free shampoo when washing your hair as sulphates can break down the treatment quite quickly. We have a selection available for purchase in the salon.

There is no down-time after your treatment - you can wash your hair or tie it up as soon afterwards as you would like. 

 

My hair isn’t quite what I expected. What should I do?

We want you to be completely happy with your hair, so if the end result isn't what you were after please let us know within 1 week and we will gladly provide you with a redo service free of charge. To get the best results from a service, we recommend following the home-care routine prescribed by your stylist.
